Being Yourself

What's "in" this season? Honesty, Silliness, and Being You!
Ever notice how lying about who you really are gets you hated and not popular? I mean, you may be in the spotlight for a little while, but the guilt (or the lies themselves) will catch up with you. You can't have two personalities and get away with it forever. Only one of them is the true "you" personality.
So, why is everyone trying to shift away from it? It's a mistake. Personally, I've been there. The outcome: Not so good. To make a long story short, I tried to expand my social life to other groups of people. When I saw the way they were, I tried to change the way I acted and my whole personality to match theirs. But everyone could see right through me. It would have been much better approaching them as me, not as who I thought that they wanted me to be.
Being yourself is so much more fun than being who you think everyone wants you to be. Like, DUH! Besides, your true friends are your true friends because of you, not who you pretend to be. That's what makes your "you" personality so special. No one else possesses it except you. Why try to mimic another personality and be like everyone else? Unique is definitely "in". So is being yourself!
