MUSIC

Come On, Take a Chance!

By Taylar, age 15, North Carolina

Music is a powerful and unbelievable thing. You can go so deep into the music and lyrics that you can become lost for a moment and escape reality. It can make your emotions spring from happy to sad to possibly the lowest depths you've ever been.

If you're a music lover, then you have probably experienced all of these feelings. There is a type of music for every emotion you are feeling. There is harder music and deeper voices, the soft and peaceful, and the "go all out and do your thing".

I don't strictly stick to just one genre of music. Exploring and listening to new styles can open your mind and make you feel alive. Why only take in one thing when you have the opportunity to experience them all? Music is there for your personal pleasure, and I take full advantage of it.

There are many amazing artists out there, and I want to listen to each and every one. By trying out new music and styles you become more open-minded and less afraid to take chances and try new things. It could possibly be the most breathtaking thing you've ever experienced. Music brings me to a new level of happiness.

So if you're feeling down, just pop in a CD that will lift your spirits. There is hope found in music. Give it a try. You might find that special something you've been lacking in your life.
