Avoiding Greasy Skin

By Mandy, age 13, Oklahoma

With it being summer and all, the temperature rises, causing your skin to naturally produce more oil. Sure, a little bit of oil hydrates your skin, but too much causes your skin to look too greasy. Don't worry though ... with these 4 easy steps you can avoid greasy skin.

Step One: Wash

Wash your face twice daily with a gel cleanser. It has the most surfactants to get rid of buildup.
Try Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash ($6, drugstores and other retailers)

Step Two: Tone

Tone your skin with an alcohol-free toner after you wash each time to remove the extra oil without drying out your skin.
Try Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner ($6.99, Walgreens and other retailers)

Step 3: Moisturize

Apply an oil-free SPF 30 lotion in the morning to protect yourself from the sun and make your skin all glowy ... without the grease.
Try Hawaiian Tropic Oil Free Faces SPF 30 ($8, drugstores and other retailers)

Step Four: Blot

Blot the shine with a pressed powder that has silk extract, an ingredient that is mattifying.
Try Sally Hansen Healing Beauty Cornsilk Pressed Powder ($5, sallyhansen.com)
