Get the Skinny on Skinny Jeans

By Lesty, age 14, Texas

A Fall Must-Have

Skinny jeans can be seen everywhere ... from California to the heart of Texas! I've got some tips to help you look like you just stepped off the runway.

Okay, I bet a lot of you are wondering if you have to be "skinny" to wear skinny jeans. No, you don't!! The key to making skinny jeans look good on a full-figured body is to wear a shirt with an empire waist, so that it flows. Also, getting a darker wash of the jeans slims down your thighs. At Torrid they have cute skinny jeans and flowy shirts. The jeans are $52.00 and the tunic is $38.00.

Shoes are also important to making this look work. Pumps are absolutely perfect for these jeans. But if you prefer something more comfortable, go for wedges! Hilary Duff is known for her "skinny jeans and heels" match up, and she always looks amazing. Okay, so maybe you don't have the money for Diesel jeans and Dior heels, but I found ways to get the look on a budget. I found these skinny jeans at Forever 21 for $27.80!! And I found these awesome pumps at Payless for $16.99!

So how on earth can you go wrong with skinny jeans? You'd think there's no way, but sadly there is. If you wear flip-flops with skinny jeans, your outfit will be a flop too. Flip-flops and skinny jeans will make your body seem out of proportion, causing your look to be one big mess. But other than that, you will look great in skinny jeans, no matter who you are :D
