Treat Like Children

As most of the world may know, ASPCA stands for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Upon seeing their commercial featuring Sarah McLachlan my heart crushed immediately at the sight of the images displayed. Having seven cats, one dachshund, and a recently deceased mixed-breed, animal cruelty is something I am dead set against.
I lost my best dog Taz in October of this year to the horrors of animal cruelty, and countless others in the past as well. I believe that no person or animal should be subjected to such inhumane treatment. The pitiful thing is that it's often said that you can tell the way a person is by how they treat their pet. If they're treated in ways one would not treat a child, then personally I would worry.
I believe that with persistence and will anything is possible. I urge you in this short article to check out the ASPCA website http://www.helpaspca.com, or call (888) 365-2772, to either speak with someone or to donate a small or generous gift. I also ask that you treat our furry friends as you would a child. They are our gifts, our best friends, our confidants, our listeners, our children, and our privilege. Life is a privilege. Whether you walk on two legs or four, don't let them take that away.
