Prom Night!

Prom night. Best night of the whole school year! Right?

Not really. Say it's the day before prom. You're not exactly the most popular girl in school, but you definitely have a group of friends you hang out with.

And yet no guy has asked you out. What are you going to do?? Sit at home and cry your eyes out? Go with a bunch of your girlfriends?

Or ... you could break tradition and ask a guy out instead of vice versa! Almost like the Sadie Hawkins dance!

Allie and I

That's what I did!! And better yet? Turned out the guy liked me too, so I got a boyfriend out of it! Now that relationship didn't last more than five months, but the fact that I worked up the courage to go up to this guy and say, "Hey! Want to go to prom with me?" and wasn't rejected just made it the happiest day of my life!

Prom night was amazing for me, and now for my tip so yours is amazing for you ... Ladies ... please keep your morals. It's not the "special night" that you need to go out and lose all sense of judgment and do something you will regret. Be smart about it. Don't get wasted and let making out with some guy go horribly wrong.

I can't even imagine the percent of teens that get pregnant on prom night. Or the percentage of teens who die from a car accident after drunk driving. You see it in the newspapers. Everyone goes to their funerals, everyone cries for them. But honestly ... they could have prevented their deaths and others who might have been involved.

Why is prom night the night everyone needs to have sex and get wasted? I had tons of fun doing nothing of that sort. I went to prom and then came back to my house, just chilled out and watched a movie, played some games, and had a great time. No one was pressuring me into anything and I didn't feel the need to do anything.

Everyone ... it's prom night. It's supposed to be fun. Not something you regret.

Be Safe. Have Fun.
