Your Voice
By Tess, age 14, Florida
I realize that I've changed,
As I wait anxiously by the phone,
I'm surrounded by voices,
But without yours I'm still alone.
We have only just met,
But you have stolen my heart,
I don't know what's come over me,
But this feeling has enveloped me from the start.
I haven't felt this way,
Since days long ago,
When he walked out of my life,
Never did I think this feeling would again show.
But here I am,
Falling in love with you,
Harder then ever,
I hope you're falling too.
I have lied to myself,
Said I would never love again,
But then you captured my heart,
And now these words flow from my pen.
You have entranced me,
Body and Soul,
If you walked away now,
I would no longer be whole.
You may think that I'm crazy,
Saying such things after a few days,
But it's true what I say,
You're not just another phase.
So I give you my heart,
And every other part of me,
I love you, my darling,
I just hope you can see...
What it is your voice does to me.
