FUN STUFF: EMBARRASSING MOMENTS

Most Embarrassing Moments

By Taylor, age 14, Ontario

I have two embarrassing stories for you all.

Adult Rated and Perfect for Teens!

My friend is, like, obsessed with CosmoGirl. So when she finished reading one of the magazines I asked if I could read it. I'm, like, obsessed with books, so when I started to read and it showed some books, I decided to write them down and go to the nearest bookstore and pick them up. One was called Wicked Pleasures. It was about this girl deciding between these twin brothers, which one she liked more. Well, I told my mom the title of the book, and right away she thought of something else. I told her, "Mom, gross! - It's not like that, trust me!"

My friend and I went in and I asked if I could buy the book Wicked Pleasures, and they said, "No, you have to be 18." In my head I'm thinking, It came from CosmoGirl. Why the heck would I have to be 18?

Well, I told my mom, and my mom and my aunt and I went in. My mom asked for the book and they gave it to her. She read the back and decided it was ok. Before she purchased it she decided to open the book and scan the pages. Well, was I surprised to know that this book was in the erotic section! My mom and aunt burst out laughing, and she told the clerk behind the desk the story, and she burst out laughing too. I could feel my face getting hot from embarrassment. After that day, I swore to never read CosmoGirl again.

Stargazing - Sooo Romantic!

I really like this guy - let's say his name is Mike. Well, on Canada Day I invited him over, along with two of my girlfriends, since all my other friends in the subdivision were busy. It was late at night so we decided to have a bonfire. Well, one of my girlfriends had to leave early because she had summer school the next day. I was fine with that, but when my other friend's mom called and said she's on her way, I started to get really nervous.

After she left, Mike and I laid back on the trampoline looking at the stars. He sat up on his shoulder still lying down and had his face looking right at me. I thought, "This is it. He's going to kiss me!" Well, I thought he was going in for the kiss, so I had to make my move. When I went to kiss him he pulled away and said, "What are you doing?" I was totally mortified. I just laid still and waited till he had to leave. I swear I wasn't breathing the rest of the night.
