Corey Crowder

By Asha, age 14, Ohio

Think of the best country singer you know of. Now think of your favorite acoustic song. Put them together, with a tad less country twang, and you've run into Corey Crowder.

His soulful, southern comfort voice draws you in and asks you to stay a while. His lyrics are of personal experiences, and brings you back to memories far back in your mind that you forgot about. This singer/songwriter is straight out of Georgia, married to his high school sweetheart, from whom most of his inspiration comes.

I first heard Corey on an episode of Real World, and when the song name came up I don't think I could have found a pen or pencil fast enough. I wrote it down, searched the web, and stumbled upon something a little more than I bargained for.

At the time when I first listened to him I liked someone. It was during the summertime. The lyrics were like he was a fly on my wall and watched my life from day to day. They were so relatable - I couldn't believe it! And you know how you have an image of someone in your mind when you hear them and you haven't seen them? Well, seeing him made it 10 times better.

I will admit you will have to be a little forgiving if you're an all-country or all-acoustic lover because Corey is a happy medium. If you're going through a hard time and nothing can make you feel better, (music site here) it up, baby! You won't regret it. (;

I give Corey a big 4 outta 5 stars.
