Fairytales
By Tess, age 15, Florida
When I met you I didn't believe in fairytales,
Or that love was real,
But when you put your lips to mine,
I didn't know how to feel.
Was history going to repeat itself,
Another hopeless romance doomed to fail,
Was I doomed to forever cry,
And say goodbye to my fairytale?
But as you spoke those words,
I felt it was different this time,
Maybe you would keep my heart,
And show me the true meaning of sublime.
You are my prince,
You're not the frog I feared you were,
When she passed by you,
You stared at me instead of her.
I'm your Cinderella,
The girl who ran away,
I never thought you'd find me,
And I never thought you'd stay.
When you told me you loved me,
And I said I loved you too,
Something became apparent to me,
Fairytales can come true.
