I Miss You
By Dominique, age 16, Wisconsin
Before our memories grew vague
And the thought of you could put a smile on my face
I remember the remembering of memories we once shared
But now we're drifting far from the love that was once there.
I remember little things like staying up with you on the phone at night
And waking up mid-day,
How you would have to leave,
But for me you'd stay.
Selfish, I know,
For me to just think of you doing for me
And not vice versa ...
But you must understand, these little things
Are what made me love ya.
I'm not sure if the message I'm trying to tell
Is getting through ...
I guess I'm saying ... even though we're still together ...
I miss you.
