Spring Fashions!

By Jasmin, age 14, Indiana

It looks like it has finally warmed up, because March has come and so has the beginning of our favorite in-between season - spring! So hang up your winter coat, and step into those comfy ole' flip-flops, because we're about to explore the new do's and don'ts of this year's spring season!

The item that seems to be flying off the racks this season is gladiator shoes. Some may love them, some may hate them. Personally I think they're great for a cool, bohemian vibe to your outfit, or if you're aiming for an au naturale look. They're simple, and expose your feet so they can get a light breeze, because you definitely don't want your feet to be all sweaty and sticky while you're partying it up on Spring Break! Plus, they're what you want if you wear flip-flops, but want a little something to hold onto your feet so your shoes don't fall off!

Another important part of your spring wardrobe is having some breezy and brightly colored spring clothes. Shorts, tanks, tees, capris - they're all the rage right now! Forget about the boring old, play-it-safe pastels, and jump on the new adventurous trend of BRIGHTNESS! Bright chiffon blouses and tunics, bright colored skinny jeans, even bright sandals for spring!

Plus, you can't forget to add in some light, dainty spring jewelry! The motto is 'less is more' for this season and this year. Accessorize according to your outfit. If you have on a patterned, busy type of outfit, then opt for more simple gold jewelry, like a delicate necklace and maybe an anklet. If you have more of a neutral type of outfit on, then spring for a more bold jewelry statement, like a chunky tribal necklace and a few random bright bangles on each arm.

Remember, everyone, no matter what you're doing this Spring Break, whether it's hitting the beach, just chilling out with your friends, or searching for a hottie, you gotta look good while doing it!
