REAL LIFE

Put an End to Animal Cruelty

By Taylor, age 15, Ontario

Dear Judge Arthur Hunter Jr.:

My name is Taylor, and although I may only be 15 I have a voice I would like you to listen to. You had a case not too long ago where a guy named Fabian Mumme had beaten and killed his dog slowly with a bat and axe, and you never sentenced him to prison. In doing so he now thinks he has the right to do whatever he pleases. What he did was animal cruelty and is against the law. He stood by while his dog died a slow and painful death. Fabian should be behind bars for at least a couple years. What he did was gruesome and he is now labeled as a killer.

Wolfie the dog did not deserve to die that way, just because Fabian had to get rid of his dog. There are many ways to get rid of dog. He could have put it in an animal shelter or at least taken it to the vet to get it put down. There are many ways he could have gone about this, but he decided to do the most horrific thing and slaughter his own dog who was once family to him.

Animals have just as much right to live as humans and should be treated the same way. Fabian Mumme deserves to be sent to jail for the unforgettable crime he has done. Don't let him get away with this because nobody deserves a second chance when it comes to animal cruelty. A dog is family and a best friend. He has every right to live, and how he died was brutal. You are letting people know they can slaughter their dogs and get away with it. Don't send this message. Do something about it. Don't stand by and watch animal after animal be beaten and killed.

Sincerely,
Taylor

This is a letter I recently sent to a judge in the United States. He had a case not too long ago where a guy named Fabian Mumme murdered his dog Wolfie with a baseball bat and an axe. I for one am totally against animal cruelty. When I read this in a magazine I was devastated, and decided to do something to help Wolfie in his honor, so I wrote this letter to the judge, complaining about Fabian Mumme just getting away with a slap on the wrist. I believe Fabian Mumme should be behind bars and not roaming the streets.

Can you still get up in the morning and go on with your life while these poor innocent animals are fighting for their lives? Help put an end to animal cruelty. Please save our animals before it's too late.

R.I.P Woflie.
