FUN STUFF: POETRY

Left Me

By Taylor, age 15, Ontario

I'm all alone
It's dark and it's cold
And I feel like yelling
But I'm tired of trying
It's like you never knew
That I could hit rock bottom

And I can't believe I'm sitting here saying
That I'm not over you and I won't stop waiting
Cause can't you see the glow in my eyes
That I can't back down
And I won't just leave
Because when ever you're around
I lose my breath
And my head hits the ground
And it's like you never left

Even on the darkest nights
I can still see your smile
And it's giving me a thrill
And I can smell your fragrance from a mile away
And it's giving me a bursting over joy
And even though I know it's you
I can't help but be surprised
Cause you're coming back around my way
And I'm losing my mind.

And I can't believe I'm sitting here saying
That I'm not over you and I won't stop waiting
Cause can't you see the glow in my eyes
That I can't back down
And I won't just leave
Because whenever you're around
I lose my breath
And my head hits the ground
And it's like you never left

And you crave the attention
That I won't even give you
Don't act like you never knew
I showed the signs
It's like a replay of last night
And I'm trying to fight
But it's getting harder each time

And I can't believe I'm sitting here saying
That I'm not over you and I won't stop waiting
Cause can't you see the glow in my eyes
That I can't back down
And I won't just leave
Because whenever you're around
I lose my breath
And my head hits the ground
And it's like you never left

These walls they are falling
And I'm breaking through it all
It was such a long fall
But I got back on my feet
And I'm ready for defeat
Yeeeh- yeeeh- yeeeeh-
Yeeeeh

If you could see the perspective
From my point of view
You'd understand
That I need you
It's like I'm not complete
Without you
And with you
I'm whole

And I can't believe I'm sitting here saying
That I'm not over you
Yeah I'm so far from being over you
And can't you see the glow in my eyes
There shining so damn bright
That I can't back down
And I won't just leave
I can't walk away from this
Because whenever you're around
I lose my breath
And my head hits the ground
And it's like you never left
Oh you never left.
No.
