The Climb

By Kate, age 18, California

On April 10th, Hannah Montana: The Movie, hits theaters. If my predictions are accurate, it will be one of the biggest box office hits of 2009, and possibly one of the highest grossing movies we've seen in a long time.

Miley's latest song from the movie is entitled "The Climb". If you have been watching The Disney Channel lately, then most likely you have seen the music video and promotions for the song. Just in case you haven't heard the song, the lyrics are below.

The Climb
By Miley Cyrus

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna want to make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna want to make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, It's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith

I downloaded "The Climb" on iTunes because I liked it so much. The lyrics really touched my heart. I truly believe that everyone can relate to this beautiful song.

It is true that sometimes there is going to be something that appears impossible to overcome, and even though it is impossible, every inch of your being wants to climb that mountain to see what's on the other side. But just like Miley sings in the song, there are times when you are going to have to lose, for it's always going to be an uphill battle.

Just remember to keep the faith. :)

Love,
Kate
