Fall Fashion Report

By Samantha, age 13, Indiana

Now that you're back in school, getting used to everything, the fashion is changing. Now, it's not time yet to put away shorts and tank tops (there are still a few warm days!) and break out the winter coat. It's time for some new fashion trends. Just because you tried hard to look great the first few weeks of school, it doesn't mean it has to stop there. If you have no clue what to wear, read this, and you'll be in-the-know.

A hot trend for fall is black and white. Maybe you'll just add accessories, or do a whole outfit. Whatever you decide, you know you'll look cute. You probably already have a few things in your closet, but here's some inspiration.

Necklace available for $8.80 at www.forever21.com or your local store.
Skirt available for $28.00 at www.forever21.com or your local store.

Dress available for $32.00 at www.lulus.com or your local store.

Another hot trend is lightweight scarves. They are cute and affordable, and come in every color you can think of. Whatever your style or favorite store is, there will be a scarf for you. Maybe you could get a black and white one ... or a pretty blue one. Whatever you decide, you'll look amazing with it.

Sick of just plain jeans? Then upgrade to distressed jeans. You may think of creepy biker guys wearing jeans with a million holes in them, but no. Some distressed jeans come with a hole on the knee, then some cuts on the thigh. Others come with cuts all down the leg. There are many kinds of distressed jeans, and you can get them basically anywhere. You can pick the type, even the color you want, to match your style.

Jeans available for $29.80 at www.forever21.com or your local store.

You'll need a great bag to carry all your school stuff in, right? You don't really want a backpack, do you? A cute oversized tote bag is just what you need. It's perfect for carrying all your books and gym clothes, and can double as your purse.

Tote (left) available for $29.50 at www.aeropostale.com or your local store.
Bag available for $7.50 at www.forever21.com or your local store.

Now that we have looked at the new fall trends, you can have a fun and stylish fall. You can play around with the trends to match your style. Hey, you might even make a trend yourself!
