FUN STUFF: POETRY

Stay Strong

By Lakshna, age 16, Oman

Break-ups have a big impact on us girls, especially if it was a long relationship and you REALLY liked the guy. I just got out of a relationship myself and was feeling really low. But then I decided there was no point in feeling sad about it. He definitely wouldn't want to get back together, and I didn't want to waste my time crying over a guy who doesn't care. So, to help myself get back on track, I penned this poem and I read it every time I feel sad or miss him.

I'm not going to let myself be hurt this time.
I'm not going to think of what went wrong.
I'm not going to ponder over those moments spent with you.
I will not make the mistakes I made before.
I will not let this grief consume me.
I will not break from within.
I will smile, be happy, for life is still pretty.
