Valentines Day Is Overrated

All the cute candy, flowers, red colors, and boys...doesn't it all make you want to just throw up? I'm not saying Valentine's Day isn't fun; however, I think it's a little exaggerated.
For people who are single, it's just another day to remind them how annoying it is that they don't have a significant other, and it makes them want to cry when they see the PDA around them on February 14th.
For people who are in relationships like myself, it's more frustrating, because the pressure is on us to buy the cutest adorable gifts, all because of a holiday created by the candy companies.
Sometimes it can get a little ridiculous, and people can go Valentine's crazy, which becomes very expensive, not to mention, sometimes people end up unhappy with their gifts or their plans.
Men will say, "It's a holiday for the girls, not the guys," but I disagree. I think guys like Valentine's Day more than girls, because they know they're going to get so much affection from their significant other on that very day.
So, basically the message I am trying to get out there to everyone is don't upset yourself! If you're single, so what?! You don't need a date on February 14th! It's just another day that happens to be surrounded by red, white, and pink.
And for those of us in relationships, the economy is rough enough right now without buying expensive gifts; just make something that comes from the heart, and don't overdo it!
