Hi there, my name is Pamela. Writing has always been my passion, and English was my favorite subject at school. Writing is how I express myself. I find that when I write I can get out exactly what I want to say. I enjoy writing for Sweet Designs Magazine because I like being able to connect with girls from all over the world. I'm a bit older than most of you and it is very rewarding to be able to offer help and advice from my experiences.

I'm 25 years old, and I live in South Africa. I live in a city called Durban, which is by the sea. Please have a look at my article about South Africa in this month's issue ("My South Africa Travel Guide," SDM, June '10). I have an older sister who is 29, and an adorable four year old niece and three month old nephew. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with them, and watch Disney movies with my niece. I also love spending time with my boyfriend. I'm very close to my mom who raised us as a single parent.

I enjoy going to the beach. I find it a very calming place where I can think and focus on nature. I love to travel. I traveled to the USA last summer where I worked at a summer camp for 11 weeks. After camp, I traveled around the USA with some of the other counselors. We went to Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, and New York. My trip to the States was one of the best experiences of my life. I have also traveled to an island called Mauritius, and have been on two cruises to Mozambique. I live in a beautiful country and am lucky to have been able to travel South Africa extensively.

I love watching movies, especially chick flicks and musicals. My favorite movies are Dirty Dancing, Grease, and The Phantom of the Opera. I'm a big fan of reality shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Project Runway. I'm obsessed with Sex and the City. I own the boxed set of the entire series and have watched it several times! My favorite music is pop and rock. My favorite bands of all time are Bon Jovi and Aerosmith, and my dream is to see them live in concert one day. I also love reading. My favorite books are books in the chick lit genre and classics like Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility.

I have my Bachelors and Honours degrees in Psychology, which together are equivalent to a USA four year Bachelors degree. I completed a double major in Psychology, as well as taking English to third year. I also took Ethics, Philosophy, and Sociology in first year. I hope to do my Masters in Counseling or Educational Psychology next year. I have always wanted to help people, and have worked a lot with the blind and visually impaired.

At the moment, I do freelance writing. I have also written a novel, which I hope will get published, and I hope to become a famous author. :)

I'm a big believer in The Law of Attraction, and that we create our reality by our thoughts and actions.

There is a quote by Napoleon Hill that resonates with me: "Whatever your mind can conceive and can believe, it can achieve." I think that we are all here to learn and grow and help each other. We are all special and unique.

"Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." - Khalil Gibran.
