Feeling Good Enough

There is a point in every young girl's or young woman's life when she doesn't feel like she's good enough. This can be for all sorts of reasons - feeling lonely, thinking she isn't pretty, home life, and so on. I can speak from personal experience on this matter because, even as a 19 year old young woman, I am currently going through the same situation.

Feeling not good enough can happen at any age and even at a point when you might be the happiest in your life. It creeps up on you when you least expect it and makes you have doubts. Truly it is one of those things that you can't fix with a magic wand; it takes hard work to figure out what makes you feel good enough.

There is always going to be something negative to discover or dwell on about yourself, but the key is to be able to look at the positive. I can say this because I am one of those people who is always finding the negative in herself and letting it take over to the point where I don't want to go out or even try to make myself feel good enough. Not feeling good enough can lead to deeper issues if you're not able to catch yourself when you start dwelling on the negative thoughts in your head or hearing some negative comments from others.

There doesn't seem to be one young lady out there who hasn't come to a point in her life when she doesn't feel good enough for one reason or another. Something that can help this whole concept of feeling good enough is being able to see the positive in yourself and not always looking at the negative. I know from personal experience that it is hard to see the positive about yourself, instead always looking at what you don't like about yourself.

I make it a point every day to tell myself at least one good thing I like about myself. It may seem stupid, like it won't help, but trust me, it always helps me to see the positive. The idea of being good enough or even feeling good enough about yourself will come with living life to the fullest and not being afraid to go out and accomplish everything that you want to do. Some days are easier than others - this I know from very personal experience - but I have learned that living life every day as if it were your last truly does help you feel good enough.
