REAL LIFE

Love or Loaded?

By Alexandra, age 16, Michigan

At the end of it all, would you choose to have someone who cares for you, no matter what, someone who is attentive and warm-hearted, someone you have remarkable chemistry with, someone who can make you laugh when you don't even want to smile, someone you love, someone who loves you ... or, would you prefer driving a Bugatti, living in the most lavish suites around the world, dining in the most upscale five-star restaurants you could imagine, as you travel the world via helicopter, adorned in Versace?

So you're in love, eh?

Hmm, I hear it makes the world go 'round. It can even fix a broken spirit. Being loved is being cared for, being wanted, having a backbone to hold you up when you feel spineless ... Someone who longs for you, only because you're YOU. Is that enough, or would you want more? Would you get bored? Do you feel like love is the only thing standing in the way of happiness ... or would it make you feel good only to an extent?

Let's say this person makes you happy, with every little thing they do - the jokes, the smiles, the feelings you get. You are infatuated and deeply in love ... But let's not forget about the fights you feel can crush your world. Let's not forget about the arguments, the hurt feelings, the lies, the heartbreaking feelings when problems arise.

Oh yeah, and you live in poor conditions ...

Someone offers you 30,000,000 dollars. Just one request ... you leave this person ... forever.

What are you going to do?

Yeah, in love with money ...

Let's say you take the money and leave the one you love ...

You now live in a huge mansion overlooking a gorgeous beach that so happens to be YOUR beach, then you get bored looking at it, so you hop in your private jet and you're taken to France where you hang out in the most exclusive clubs and restaurants. After a long day of shopping you're feeling tired, so you return to your five star suite. Everything you could ever want is in the palm of your hands. From hard conditions to a lavish lifestyle, and leaving the one you love was the only cost.

Love won't last forever, and it'll only get you so far ... Besides, you'll always be well-dressed, and well equipped to live the life most people can only dream of ...

But no one said you'd be happy.

Many people declare without hesitation that they'd take love over money any day ... If that's you, would you really do it?
