Apocalyptic Breeze
By Danielle, age 17, South Carolina
Vibrant colors blaze across our scenefrom tipsy toes to shallow lows
a melancholy feeling falls around me.
My eyes shine vividly towards our sun
pupils constricted, I see it fading
while gentle wind traces my jaw.
An apocalypse is drawing near.
A sense of restlessness falls upon me
for the cracking and crunching fills my ears
it's soon to fade.
Small kisses pinch my toes
as tiny frost nips at my cheeks
already it's here hiding.
I watch specks flutter within the wind
a gray facade fills our atmosphere
It's here.
Bless you winter
tissues will be near.
