I Want to Go on a Date

I want to go on a date. A date like this one. The type where the guy shows up at your door with flowers that he got from a guy on the street on the way over and is scared of your dad. Where you eat dinner at some fancy place where you can't pronounce the names of the entrees and you both try to start conversations that turn out awkward. Then one of you reaches for the other's hand while walking to the car and you both smile, but not big enough for the other to see.

Then, at the end of the night, when you're driving home, you hear a song that you each decide (inside your own heads, of course) that it's forever "your song." So, once the song is over and you're back in the driveway of your house, you say goodnight. You want to kiss the person, but you don't know if you should. So you make up something lame to say to keep him there for an extra few seconds. Then, while mid-sentence, the guy kisses you. It's not one of those sloppy kisses, but one of those sweet and innocent kisses. After that, you say goodnight for real, walk to your room, fall on your bed, and replay the night in your head until you see the guy again.
