By Cassie, age 15, CaliforniaFriendship is like a flower.
Sometimes it grows and sometimes it withers away to nothing.
It's hard to tell which route your friendship will take.
It all depends on yourself, the other person, and which flower your friendship is. Is it a lily, rose, sunflower, or hibiscus?
Are you letting it get enough sunshine or just drowning it with water?
Do you care about your friends and let them choose what will happen or pester them all the time?
Like a flower with sunshine, friendships need love to survive and grow.
Will you be there for a friend when they need you?
