Makeup on the Beach

By Leanne, age 16, United Kingdom

It's that favourite time of the year we've all been waiting for - yes, it's summer! And to celebrate this, here is a fast yet super adorable summer makeup tutorial for when you're going out to the beach. Go get your sunglasses, girlies!

The best look for summer is to be simple with a pop of colour - but not overdoing it.

Step 1. It's important to have freshly cleansed skin, so make sure you have a day and night face routine. Now, instead of applying your usual foundation, go for a tinted moisturiser like CoverGirl Aqua CG Smoothers tinted moisturizer. It's just as good as foundation!

Step 2. For the eyes, use a liquid eyeliner on your top lid, and make sure you add a flick to the end of your eyes for that flirty look - don't overdo it though! It may need some practice and perfecting, but that's ok. Now, you can choose make your eyes appear bigger by only using the eyeliner 3/4 of the way in, or if you prefer a more sexy look, then you can go all the way in to the corner of your eye.

Step 3. Use your fave mazzy to coat those top lashes! I'm loving Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara. A great tip: Use a bit of Vaseline on your lashes before you go to bed. It promotes growth. Ultra long lashes? Heck, yes!

Step 4. Now for luscious lips. First, to get rid of dead skin on lips (ew!) use a toothbrush in circular motions. This is such a great tip for when you want to have a smooth surface for your lipstick. A Barbie pink-like MAC Candy Yum-Yum would be super cute. Then apply your favourite pink lip gloss over it for glossy lips. Now that's yum yum!

Step 5. This is optional, but you can apply a light blush to make your cheeks rosy - that's if you don't naturally get a rosy face in the summer (like me!). Instead of applying it to the apples of you cheeks, follow your cheek bones down. It really defines your face much more.

Have fun, my lovelies. Kisses! xx
