Blazers

By Kenzi, age 19, California

As a girl, one of the best feelings is to put on a boys jacket and wear it around for hours. It makes you feel small and comforted. So, as a new trend emerges, clothing brands everywhere have designed a "boyfriend blazer." Blazers were already a great way to dress up an outfit and create a sense of importance, but now they're actually trendy.

I remember buying my first blazer four years ago and thinking it was the most fabulous thing I had in my closet. But at the time it just wasn't something that was in style, so eventually after a couple months it retreated to the backs of my hangers and hid there until this season when I can pull it out and flaunt it.

People are constantly asking me where I got it. (Wet Seal, if you wanna know.) It's longer and black and has a great black stripe pattern on the inside to bring out more style. I pair it with everything from cardigans to loose tees and tanks to add some style. It also looks really cute with skirts and wedges. Blazers are also great item to wear to a job interview that will help you look professional and fashionable. While browsing around these definitely caught my eye.

Longer blazers give you more of a fashion forward look and less of a professional look.
Blazer is available for $32.80 at www.forever21.com or your local Forever 21 store.

Although this blazer is more expensive than the usual clothing options I feature, it definitely has style.
Blazer is available for $420 at www.nicolemiller.com.

Choose this blazer for a more professional look.
Blazer is available for $159.99 at www.jcrew.com or your local J. Crew store.
