REAL LIFE: COLLEGE

Midterms?!

Wow. Half the semester is over! I am already picking out classes for the second semester. For me, this semester ends December 8th and it's coming so fast! There's, like, one month left! Anyone else freaking out? College is going by quicker than quick. Which means finals will be soon. I just had midterms!

Midterms did not go over so well. I was caught way off guard. I didn't study for most since I thought they were all open book ... open note ... whatever. And they all were ... except for my Art History midterm. Let's face it, I don't get excited over Art History.

Luckily, though, I had a project earlier in the month that I aced! Yeah! But now, I am fully aware of what finals will be like.

Every school and every class does things differently, I found out. For my journalism class, I got to take it on my computer and it was open note. Of course, for the things I couldn't find, there was Google. Hey, no one said anything about not using the internet!

For my Composition and Rhetoric Class, it was a simple essay, and we were allowed to take it back to our dorms, as long as we passed it in by 9:00. Again, open note, and internet accessible if I needed it. If you're given the opportunity to take a midterm in your dorm room, go for it! Just don't get distracted.

Art History, though, was a standard midterm, in class, with only your brain to use. I guess I got a little carried away with all the other awesome midterms.

The obvious lesson here is: don't let midterms sneak up on you! And don't assume it's all open note. Pay attention and study. I'll remember this for finals!
