How to Wear White

White can be a difficult thing to wear. Do you wear a white shirt with white jeans, or is that too much white? What accessories can you use so it doesn't look so plain? Here are a few of my tips and suggestions when it comes to wearing white!

White Jeans

♥ Wear white jeans for day with a flowy, babydoll top and flip flops when the weather is warm. This is a nice, modern look that can go almost anywhere.

♥ If wearing a white shirt, make it a tight fitted shirt. It will work well with gold or bronze jewelry.

♥ Give your white jeans more of a sophisticated edge by adding a black sweater and black boots.

♥ Transition your white jeans into fall by adding a white long sleeve top and a brown sweater vest and boots. This adds more substance to the look.

♥ Make white jeans work in winter by wearing them with a burgundy velvet blazer. The contrast of the deep jewel tone against white will add a festive touch.

♥ Usher in spring in nautical style by selecting a navy and white striped top and a long navy sweater coat with white jeans.

♥ Make white jeans work at night year-round by selecting a halter top and a sequin sweater shrug with strappy high heels.

Tips and Warnings

♥ Look for white jeans in a variety of cuts. You can find skinny leg styles, wide leg options or boot cuts in most stores today.

♥ Realize that not all whites are the same. You can look for white jeans with more yellow or tan in the shade, or opt for the texture of white cords to vary the look.

♥ Always follow the washing instructions on white jeans to keep them crisp and clean.

♥ Avoid washing white jeans with other colored items that could run.

♥ Check your rear view to be sure you aren't showing a panty or anything else unwanted! I suggest wearing thongs with white jeans, but stay away from bold colored thongs, as they might be seen through the jeans.

Makeup with White Clothes

♥ When wearing a lot of white, try to keep the makeup subtle and to a minimum.

♥ Applying blush can give your skin more color, and it looks especially cute in the winter!

♥ A neutral color lip gloss with a little shimmer will work well too!

♥ Keep the eyeliner subtle as well. Nothing too bold or dark. A thin line around the eyes will help bring them out, but not look overdone. Go light on the mascara as well.

A general rule: you want to match makeup with your skin tone, not what you wear. But when it comes to white, ALWAYS keep it simple.
