"Sweet Advice" Returns
By Stephanie Lynn, age 25, Massachusetts
SDM Editor-in-Chief
Have a problem? Dealing with an issue? Parents, school, dating, friendships, relationships? Are you (or people you care about) in trouble? You may need some Sweet Advice.
As you know, about a year and a half ago we stopped the Sweet Advice column because coordinating hundreds of readers' questions and dozens of advice staff, on top of the magazine and everything else in my life, had become too much.
I have some good news. As of the April 2010 issue, Sweet Advice has returned - in a more manageable form.
Now, a very small number of experienced article writers and gifted advice givers will answer selected advice questions and respond in full-length articles with the header "REAL LIFE: ADVICE".
Mia, 17, from North Carolina, has received two Gold Stars for more than 80 advice answers since 2007. Her advice column will be called "Mia Says".
Mia will be joined by Elizabeth, 20, from Pennsylvania, also a gifted writer and advice columnist. Her advice column will be called "Ask Liz Anything!" She introduces herself and contributes to the current issue.
We are not adding other advice columnists at this time, but may in the future. If you wish to be considered, please apply and tell me why I should choose you. Priority will be given to our proven staff of writers, but you can apply to join us.
I apologize in advance that we will not be able to address every question, but we will attempt to answer as many as we can, especially those with the greatest interest to our readership.
So, enjoy the cool advice articles in the April, May, June, and future issues, and if you have a question, send it in!
