Why I started SDM: I started Sweet Designs Magazine in January 2007. My goal has been to attract America's best teen writers and give them a venue to express opinions about the world around them. I look for writers with something positive, helpful, fresh, and insightful to say. I also want SDM to be fun to write for and to read. And I want to help teens avoid the traps and pitfalls of youth and become successful, well-adjusted adults.
Activities, Sports, Interests: I love acting, art, modeling, graphic design, crocheting, and volunteering for worthwhile causes. I'm not currently playing any sports, but I enjoy street hockey, basketball, and ultimate frisbee.
Favorite Books: The Bible, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, The Clique series by Lisi Harrison, and Generation Me by Jean M. Twenge.
Favorite School Subjects: In college, Psychology, Calculus, & English. In high school, Geometry, Biology, and Art.
Favorite Movies: Some of my all-time favorites are Sweet Home Alabama, Back to the Future, The Trouble with Angels, Mozart and the Whale, Where the Heart Is, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Notebook, 13 Going On 30, The Ring, Wish Upon a Star, Forrest Gump, and Jane Eyre (2006).
Favorite TV Shows: Project Runway, Law & Order: SVU, America's Next Top Model, The Amazing Race, Law & Order: CI, The Simpsons, 90210, Urkel, and The Wonder Years.
I listen to: A wide variety of music, which usually does not include rap or country. I enjoy artists such as Lifehouse, Taylor Swift, Natasha Bedingfield, and Gwen Stefani.
Most Important Values: Integrity and empathy.
I enjoy: Painting, cooking, traveling, camping, bicycling, knitting, sewing, shopping, and reading.
