Happy New Year!! The January 2011 issue kicks off the new year, while completing a totally awesome four years with Sweet Designs Magazine. That's right! The February issue will mark the start of SDM's fifth year! My team and I are so very excited about our special anniversary issue. You'll definitely want to check back next month.

We also have a very special treat for you this month. In the second of two recent features on the talented young artists and crafters displaying their skills on Etsy, I interview Alison, age 14, from Texas, who has a gift for making truly unique hair ornaments most any girl would want to wear. Alison combines creativity, focus, and her considerable photography skills, resulting in a fun route to real success. Girls interested in starting their own design business will certainly want to read her story.

In all, our January issue contains 29 features, with themes ranging from New Year's resolutions to why 2010 was the best year ever. (I hope it was good for you too!)
