Featured Gold Star Writer Bio

Hey, SDM readers! I am so happy to be the June 2011 cover girl! This is an update of my life since I was featured on the cover of the June 2010 issue.

Since then I have focused a lot on my writing career. I have written a middle-grade novel, a young adult novel (both have been featured in previous issues of SDM), and two relationship books. I have self-published my books as eBooks; they are now available at most good online bookstores. I have also designed and created my own website for my books: pameladianeking.com. I am currently working on a new novel.

I am also in the process of opening my own business. My sister and I are starting a preschool in Durban, South Africa. My Honours degree in Psychology and Postgraduate Certificate in Education, as well as my love for children, has led me to this new venture. Starting a business is a lot of hard work, but it's worth it. Wish me luck!

A huge development since you last heard from me is my trip to Europe! I left South Africa on March 3rd and headed to Europe for an awesome tour, returning on March 29th. I met up with my tour mates in London and we went on a 21 day tour of Europe. I also spent a few days exploring London. It was an unforgettable experience. I am very thankful that I got to travel again and I hope to travel even more. You can read all about it in my article in this month's issue.

I have a new boyfriend since around Valentine's Day, and we went to a cool music festival over the Easter weekend. He has introduced me to sushi, which I'm now addicted to! I have also been spending lots of time with my niece and nephew and my family.

I have enjoyed answering advice questions for SDM and writing articles. I will continue writing for this fantastic magazine that we are all lucky to be a part of. Enjoy the rest of the articles and have a great year! :)
