"Hand-sculpted, kiln-fired ceramic animal sculptures, mythical beasts, and ferocious monsters made with love" reads the tag line of this month's featured artist/crafter, Meg from Washington, DC, owner of the Etsy shop Red & Main.Meg's clay collection includes an assortment of brightly colored yetis and other toothy creatures, lime green dinosaurs, and a red or orange-ish Blob monster enjoying a soft serve ice cream cone. I interview Meg about why she chose to leave a secure career in the corporate world to pursue her passion for design, and ask her what she feels is important for an independent young artist/businesswoman to be successful.
Also in this issue, new writer Aviva (22, from New Jersey) shares a well written short story imbued with myst and mystery called "The Secret." Kate (Pennsylvania), displaying her usual wry wit, gives us a rundown of her various "Math Tutors."
If you have (or have had, and perhaps lost) a truly beloved "Grandad," you will definitely want to read Rachel's intimate account of her relationship with one truly amazing man.
Plus, lots of reviews and Entertainment topics this month, poems, advice, yummy low-cal snack ideas, how to "Get Valuable Work Experience," and "A Week in the Life of [Jasmin's] Clothes," all in the October issue of Sweet Designs Magazine.
