Why I Write for SDM: I write for SDM because, on top of loving everything the magazine stands for, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with girls. It's really important for me to be able to feel like I'm empowering women.
Activities, Sports, Interests: First and foremost, I'm a writer. I'm a poet and an aspiring novelist. I've been a cheerleader and I'm a cheerleader at heart, but I also enjoy playing soccer on some occasions. I enjoy working out, aimless walking, watching movies, and dancing.
Favorite Authors: My favorite authors are currently Stephen King and Anne Rice. The books I enjoy most by Stephen King are Thinner, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and 1408, which is a short story. My favorite books by Anne Rice are a part of The Vampire Chronicles, which include Interview With the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and Queen of the Damned. I love them the most because of their use of description and literary techniques. I think they're really amazing.

Favorite School Subject: I love French and history most of all. History teaches us a valuable lesson and I believe that it's to help us make better decisions in the future. French is an amazing language, so much so that I like it better than the English language. The verb tenses and verbs are very well defined. I'm hoping that in 10 years I can speak it fluently.
Favorite Movies & TV Shows: My favorite show right now is Grey's Anatomy and I'm completely addicted. I think I like it so much because Meredith and I have so much in common. Also, it's easy to identify with most of the characters because they are all from different walks of life. My favorite movies are V for Vendetta, Shake Hands with the Devil, and Sicko. They all deal with very controversial things such as terrorism, genocide and government, and are amazing to watch.
I listen to: My favorite bands currently are Depeche Mode, The Blood Hound Gang, and Goldfrapp. Also, I really enjoy listening to the music from the musical RENT.
Most Important Values: My most important value is honesty. I've often been told that I can be too honest, but in my own opinion, there is too much lying going on in the world and we just can't handle the truth very well any more. We have to accept the things we can't change. Another thing I find important is education. It's really important that we go to school and make something of ourselves. We live in a very technologically advanced world, and in this day and age if you don't have an education you're pretty much getting left behind.

Future Plans: After I get a degree in political science, I'd like to head to law school, where I'm thinking about specializing in divorce. What I'd really like to do is go to Sudan and do some humanitarian work and get something good done. If all else fails, I'd like to be a politician.

What I'm All About: I'm all about helping people and unconditional love. Also, I'd like to empower women from third world countries. It's really important to me.

A Favorite Quote: You're alive. Do something. The directive in life, the moral imperative was so uncomplicated. It could be expressed in single words, not complete sentences. It sounded like this: Look. Listen. Choose. Act.
